Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has denied reports that he is planning to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Rumours went rife that Atiku was planning to defect to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after President Goodluck Jonathan paid him a secret visit.

The reports were further bolstered by the defection of 120 supports groups loyal to him from the APC to the PDP.

Atiku has however said, via a statement on Twitter, that the APC is his final bus stop.

“When I toured our country and listened to the hopes, fears and expectations of Nigerians from all walks of life, I said the APC is the final bus stop, and that it is the end of the line. Because it is for me,” the former Vice President said.

The Special Adviser to the President on Political Affairs, Rufai Ahmed Alkali stated earlier that Atiku is merely on sabbatical in the APC and would soon return to the PDP.
