The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has debunked planned defection of its Governors to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Olisah Metuh in a reaction to a statement made by Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha alleging that seven PDP governors were set to defect to the APC, described the allegation as baseless and one of the lies being peddled by the opposition.
The PDP spokesman also lamented what he termed APC’s habit of peddling lies in a bid to win voters over to its side.
Olisah Metuh, while giving assurance of the unalloyed loyalty of all the PDP governors to President Goodluck Jonathan, said he was confident that the PDP would defeat the APC with a wide margin in the forthcoming elections.
The PDP scribe added that his party would cease to respond to the unfounded stories being mischievously peddled by the opposition, describing the act as one of desperation coming from a party whose defeat is imminent.
Chairman of the APC Governors Forum, Rochas Okorocha had on Monday said no fewer than seven governors elected on the platform of PDP were secretly working and mobilising support for his party in the forthcoming elections.
