The Inspector-General of Police (IG), Mr. Suleiman Abba, has viewed with great concern the death of Prof. Ahmed Falaki of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, in Kano.

He has therefore ordered the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge Zone 1, Kano, AIG Tambari Muhammed to conduct an in-depth forensic investigation on the incident with a view to unraveling the circumstances surrounding the attack and death of the renowned Professor of Agriculture.

Meanwhile, some arrests had been made in connection with the incident, and the late professor’s vehicle had been recovered in Bauchi State.

The IG, in a release signed by the Force spokesperson, Emmanuel Ojukwu, assured the deceased’s immediate family and the public that the police would do all it takes to seek justice, while the perpetrators of the unfortunate incident would not go unpunished.
