WARRI—A COALITION of Urhobo Nation Youth Leaders and Stakeholders, CUNYLS, in Delta State, has handed the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential running mate, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, a seven-day ultimatum to explain why Urhobo youths should not declare him and his party persona non-grata in Urhobo- land.
The group, in a statement by its convener, Mr. Rex Anighoro, alleged that Osinbajo and APC not only endorsed anarchy, but declared war on the entire Urhobo ethnic nationality with his recent visit to a factional executive of the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, led by Prof. Tuesday Onoge.
“We request Professor Osinbajo to, within the next seven days, respond to Urhobo youths by dissociating himself and his party from the fraud and coup perpetrated against the Urhobo nation or else Urhobo youths may well be uncontrollable as they are determined to declare APC persona non-grata in Urhobo- land.
“Professor Osinbajo, acting the script of the presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Rotimi Ameachi, the Director-General of his campaign organisation, came down to the heart of Urhobo nation to endorse a failed coup de’ tat to subvert and overthrow, through unconstitutional means, the legitimate and legal leadership of UPU, led by Chief Joseph Omene.”
“This failed coup de’ tat and conspiracy by a certain Pa Tuesday Onoge and given muscle by the APC governorship candidate of Delta State, O’tega Emerhor, was hatched in order to divide the Urhobo people and its over 1,000,000 votes since Urhobo nation has totally rejected Buhari for president, having overwhelmingly endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan,” the coalition added.
