The acting Governor of Taraba State, Alhaji Sani Abubakar Danladi, has appealed to the people of the state to vote massively for President Goodluck Jonathan in the forthcoming presidential election.
Danladi, who made the appeal at Karim Lamido, headquarters of his local government area yesterday in continuation of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign rallies, also enjoined the people of the state to vote all the PDP candidates for the various elective positions.
President Jonathan campaign train berthed in Taraba last Thursday where he promised to construct a presidential resort on Mambilla Plateau if reelected president on February 14th.
The acting governor, who is the PDP senatorial candidate for Taraba North, told the party supporters that came to welcome him and Mr. Darius Ishaku, the PDP gubernatorial candidate that a vote for Jonathan is a vote for security, development, better opportunities and other better things in life.
According to him “a vote for Goodluck Jonathan is a vote for security, development, better opportunities and indeed a vote for better things. So vote Jonathan, vote for Dairus Ishaku vote for me, and vote for the PDP for all positions”.
Also addressing the people, Dairus Dickson Ishaku assured them that if elected governor, he would not only construct the Jalingo-Lau-Karim 43 kilometers road, but would also provide irrigation for their farm lands to boost dry season cultivation.
Ishaku, speaking in company of his running mate, Hon. Haruna Manu noted that never in the history of Taraba has the state been blessed with such formidable team, and therefore called on the people to vote wholly for the PDP beginning with presidential and National Assembly elections.
He disclosed that the decision of the party to focus more on the people in the rural areas is a reflection of the regard the party has for the masses just as he stated that the massive turnout of the people is an indication that the party’s candidates are in touch with their people.
