Immediate past governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, and a former governorship aspirant in Imo State, Mr. Bethel Amadi, are among top politicians rooting for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate and Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives,  Emeka Ihedioha, to become the next governor.

The  two men spoke during governorship rallies in Mbaitoli and Ikeduru local government areas at the weekend, where the crowd caused a traffic jam stretching over several kilometers forcing thousands of party faithful  to walk long distance to the venue.

At Mbaitoli, where canon shots and shouts of joy heralded Ihedioha’s entry into the campaign venue, Peter Obi advised the Imo electorate to identify with the re-election project of President Goodluck Jonathan and elect Ihedioha as Imo State governor.

The former Anambra governor lambasted Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, for his alleged failure to uplift the living standard of the people.

He said any responsible governor would always be in the good books of the President and not work against him. He therefore, urged Imolites to reciprocate the good gestures of Mr. President by voting for his party, PDP,  at all levels, adding that Imo should be reconnected to the national political grid once again. Obi described Ihedioha as the right man to salvage Imo State and bring back its last glory.

At Ikeduru, a former frontline guber aspirant and president of the Pan-African Parliament, Mr, Bethel Amadi, stormed the Iho, campaign ground with his supporters to declare support for Ihedioha. Amadi embraced the deputy speaker to the admiration of the crowd and declared his total support and commitment towards the realisation of the governorship project.
