NIGERIA: Four Die in Enugu Auto-crash

 No fewer than four persons were feared dead in an auto accident involving a trailer conveying empty crates of beer  at the IBB flyover near Akanu Ibiam international airport on the Enugu – Abakaliki highway on Friday.

The victims included two students of New Haven Secondary School, a female teacher and the driver of the trailer whose National Driver’s Licence bears Kebiru Ibrahim of 15 Omoregbe Street off Lucky Way, Benin-City.

Although the identities of the two students could not be immediately confirmed, two school identity cards recovered after they were pulled from under the trailer reads Miss Onebunne Mmesom and Master Okolie Chiemerie in SS1A.
Eyewitnesses had it that the trailer driver was heading towards Emene when it lost control, apparently on account of over-speeding and pushed both the teacher and the students from the flyover down to the foot of the bridge.

The trailer, empty bottles and plastic crates were smashed at the foot of the ridge from where bodies of the victims were recovered and conveyed to the Annunciation Hospital Emene, Enugu.
The female teacher, who had multiple fractures, and was in coma, was rushed to the National Orthopaedic Hospital.
