NIGERIA: Buhari is Competent for the Job, Says Alake

The Alake of Egbaland, Oba Aremu Adedotun Gbadebo, has described the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, as “a purposeful man of vision who is competent for the task of salvaging the nation at this critical time.’’

He said Buhari is a man totally devoid of sentiments and capable of taking the country to the desired haven.

The Alake, who made this declaration when he, alongside all Egba royal fathers  hosted the leadership of the APC and its presidential candidate in his Ake, Abeokuta palace, before party’s mega rally held at MKO Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta, said that Nigerians will not be making a wrong choice by sharing in the Buhari vision.

Gbadebo decried the allegation that Buhari stopped the metroline project in Lagos during his days as Head of State as untrue, affirming that,  ‘’When he saw the exorbitant amount spent on the preliminary study by the government before his, he had no choice than to ask for the expansion of waterways and roads while another study begins on the metroline.

“Before you today is a man of vision, competent, hardworking, purposeful and determined. He is a man totally devoid of sentiments who calls a spade a spade.

“The first time Baga in the North was over-run, this is the same man who was sent to clear the place and return it to Nigeria. Nigerians, this time will not be making a wrong choice if we share in the same vision of General Muhammadu Buhari. The nation of Singapore was transformed through the efforts of one man. God will help Buhari to take Nigeria to a place of our dream,’’ he emphasised.

While thanking the APC pesidential candidate for the period he spent under his leadership, Alake revealed that, “it was that time of tutelage that prepared me to be a better Alake that I am today.’’

Speaking earlier, Buhari lamented the state of the nation which he attributed to mis-management, promising that the APC, on assuming power, will fight corruption tooth and nail, adding that the economy would be given a boost while jobs would be provided for the teeming youths.
