NIGERIA: Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed Kicks off Re-election Bid in Offa

The gubernatorial campaign for the re-election bid of Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed will kick off at Offa Township Stadium, Offa on Wednesday.

It would be recalled that the All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders in the state and former governor of the state, Senator Bukola Saraki, over the weekend inaugurated the campaign team for the re-election bid of Governor Ahmed.

A Director-General and the incumbent Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Razak Atunwa, heads the campaign team.

Inaugurating the campaign team in Ilorin, Senator Saraki said the APC would win the total votes during the February general elections.

The APC in a statement issued yesterday by its Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Sulyman Buhari, said the party expressed its readiness to organise a hitch-free, peaceful and successful rally.

“The flag off ceremony of the gubernatorial campaign of our governorship candidate, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed will hold at Offa Township Stadium, Offa, Kwara State tomorrow by 7:00am prompt.

“The historic event would be utilised to intimate the good people of Kwara State that Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed is still the best man for the job. The successes of Mr Governor’s first term in office would be highlighted, while the manifesto for the continuity would be well-articulated for the benefits of Kwaran people.

“The APC and the governorship campaign committee have concluded arrangements to ensure a hitch-free, peaceful and successful rally. All APC members across the 16 local government areas of Kwara State are enjoined to attend and mobilise en-masse for the historic event”.

The party said,  “other campaign schedule would be released to the public at the appropriate time. We reiterate our commitment to an issue-based campaign devoid of hatred and bitterness throughout the period of electioneering campaign. And we urge the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its governorship candidate to embrace issue-based campaign in the interest of peace and healthiness of the electoral system.”
