The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has set up reconciliatory committees at different levels to resolve issues that emanated from the merging of the party with the Labour Party (LP).

The committees will also look into issues that arose from the primaries of the party to elect candidates of the party for the House of Assembly and National Assembly elections.

The Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Banji Okunomo, disclosed the action of the party during a chat with journalists in Akure, the state capital.

Okunomo said the party would put in place ameliorating measures for those that were affected by the merging of the two parties.

The publicity secretary said the new mega  PDP would not discriminate against any member irrespective of the role played during the merger of the parties.
He said the target of the party is not only to win but to win big and to deliver not less that one million votes for President Goodluck Jonathan in the forthcoming election.

Okunomo said the party adopted the consensus arrangement to reduce the cost of election.

He said the arrangement was able to remove hassles associated with primaries whereby aspirants cough out millions during shadow election.

The publicity secretary urged the people of the state to vote for Jonathan in the forthcoming election in view of the transformation that he had brought to Nigeria.
He said the Jonathan had touched virtually all the sectors of the country in no small measures.

He therefore called on all members of the party, who were aggrieved to close ranks and work for the success of the party in the election.
