A fire outbreak on Friday destroyed goods worth million of Naira at the popular Singer Market in Kano.
Confirming the fire outbreak, the state Acting Director of the State Fire Service, Alhaji Balarabe Kabara, said the fire started around 1:40 am.
According to him, the fire which lasted for over five hours, was however put out by the singular effort of the men of the fire service.
A fire fighting official said the inferno had destroyed goods in two warehouses valued at several millions of Naira.
He said the cause of incident was yet to be ascertained and urged people in the state to be very vigilant while using fire. Speaking also, the branch chairman of the Traders Association in the market, Abulaziz Musa said the fire started around 1:15am and it destroyed food items and other essential commodities.
Musa who described the incident as an act of God, urged the traders to continue to pray to Almighty Allah to prevent future occurrences.
