As part of the efforts to decongest Polling Units across the country, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has created an additional thirty thousand Polling Units (PUs).
This brings the total number of Polling units nation-wide to 150,000.
Also, the commission said that the total number of registered voters is 70,383427.
According to INEC Bulletin circulated to newsmen and signed by the Director in charge of the commission’s secretariat, Ishiaku A. Gali, said the decision to create the additional Polling Units was taken at the Commission’s meeting on Tuesday, 12th August 2014.
