The Majority Leader of Kwara State House of Assembly, Abdulganiyu Abdulkareem, yesterday debunked rumours that the assembly had concluded plans to impeach the state Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed.
Abdulkareem, who made the denial in an interview with journalists in Ilorin, said the rumours were baseless and unfounded.
There were rumours that the assembly was planning the removal of the governor from office while another rumour had it that the legislators were divided over the second term bid of the governor.
Abdulkareem, however, said the assembly was united and formidable, explaining that most its members were from the same party under the leadership of former governor of the state, Bukola Saraki.
He said the relationship between the incumbent governor and the former was not strained to give room for the removal of the serving governor.
Abdulkareem however, described the alleged division of members as a mere speculation, describing it as a figment of imagination of the enemies of the assembly.
