Speaking yesterday on BBC Hard Talk programme, the former Vice-President of the World Bank and co-founder of “BringBackOurGirls” movement also said that the campaign group is not inspired by politics as alleged by officials of the federal government.
Ezekwesili said Nigeria was not actually a failed state but has many failed institutions as a result of poor governance, stressing that the government is not responding effectively as it should on the issue of the Chibok girls.
“Every problem has a solution and part of what I believe is that we do need to look at our counter-insurgency strategy. I don’t think we planned for this. So, of course, we are not responding as effectively as it should be,” she said.
She noted that wherever those abducted girls are, the most important thing is for the society to respond decisively in identifying their location and bringing them back.
