Former Imo State Governor, Chief Achike Udenwa, and Senator Ifeanyi Araraume have vowed to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State in the impending 2015 general elections.

Araraume disclosed this while addressing a crowd of PDP members who trooped out to receive him in Owerri, the Imo State Capital. Araraume who is on a mobilisation tour of the 27 Local Government Areas in Imo said himself, Udenwa and other leaders of PDP in Imo State would work together to ensure that Governor Rochas Okorocha did not return to the Government House in 2015.
He said while he had embarked on the tour to mobilise support for PDP and President Goodluck Jonathan, Udenwa was meeting leaders across the State with specific instruction to revive all PDP structures in the 305 electoral wards in the State in order to strengthen the Party ahead of the 2015 general elections.

He warned that the people of the State would no longer tolerate leaders who deceive them with unrealistic promises. Araraume further disclosed that the PDP in Imo was working on a strategy that would ensure economic transformation of the State to help the Party reclaim Imo which he said, was originally a PDP State.
On zoning, Araraume said that the Governorship of Imo State had never been zoned since aspirants from all the three zones of the state had always contested the governorship each time there was governorship election.
