Akwa Ibom State Government has tasked the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to improve on the quality of relief materials sent not only to the state but other zones of the country hit by disaster.
Deputy Governor of the state, Lady Valerie Ebe gave the charge when members, South-South Zone of NEMA, led by its Coordinator, Dr Onimode Bandele, visited her in Governor House Uyo, while on inspection of disaster intervention programmes in the state.
The Deputy Governor, who is the Chairman of State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), said NEMA noted that sometimes relief material given to victims of disaster does not address their peculiar needs.
