Following the search of the official car of the Speaker of House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, by soldiers at a function in Kaduna on Monday, the House will today move a motion to condemn the alleged harassment.
According to a source in the House who craved anonymity, the motion would be moved by the Minority Leader of the House; Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.
The motion, which whould be brought under matters of urgent national importance and ‘breach of privileges’ of the Speaker, Gbajabiamila would condemn the shabby treatment meted out to Tambuwal and caution against further occurrence of such.
Recall that Tambuwal’s car was subjected to a search by soldiers who claimed they were acting on orders from above at the entrance to the venue of a security summit in Kaduna
The incident occurred at the international conference on security and development: challenges of pastoralism in West and Central Africa organised by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).
