The Lagos State Government has issued Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) for the 750-hectare of land in the Lekki Trade Free Zone area to two development associations representing the host communities of the zone.
The state Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mrs. Olusola Oworu, recently presented the certificates to the host communities at the conference room of the Lekki Worldwide Investment Limited, Ibeju-Lekki.
Oworu acknowledged that the certificates were issued in fulfillment of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between it and the communities towards the development of the free zone.
She said the state government had earlier ceded 394 hectares to the people and paid compensation to the communities all in line with the state’s obligations to the communities under the MoU.
