Governor of Cross Rivers State,  Liyel Imoke, has called on the Federal Government  to work out a plan that would ensure the application of the Integrated Personnel Payment Information System (IPPIS) platform to curb excessive revenue leakages and create more resources for development.

Imoke made this call yesterday  in Calabar at the Official Opening Ceremony of a Seven-day retreat on development of the IPPIS – HR Processes “TO BE”.

Represented at the occasion by the Deputy Governor Cross Rivers State, Mr. Efiok Cobham, Imoke said, the smooth implementation of the scheme would enhance accurate data on the number of employees on the Federal government’s Payroll and ultimately, create an enabling environment for proper planning and development.

He said further that his administration had already taken proactive action to stem the tide of revenue losses arising from bloated personnel in the state civil service.

The introduction of Cross Rivers State Smartgov and other Technological initiatives in the state he said, have significantly afforded the state the opportunity of ascertaining the actual staff strength and wage bill.

Imoke further called on the committee of HR-Experts to ensure active participation during the retreat and develop the final document that will be deployed for effective and efficient service delivery in the country.
