A pressure group, Transformation Youth Vanguard (TYV) has called on the National Headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to intervene in the crisis rocking the party in state.

In a statement yesterday, signed by its National Coordinator, James Nuhu, the group condemned the suspension of the Chairman, describing it as illegal, and capable of wrecking division the party in the state, if not promptly resolved.

Nuhu said, “The party in the state had been enjoyed relative peace until the chairman, Dr Haruna Dabin informed the governor of his intentions to aspire for the position of the governorship in 2015, and then hell broke loose.”

The embattled chairman had called for a state working committee meeting at the party office about two weeks ago where he presented the audited account of his stewardship covering the period of his tenure as the chairman. But some EXCOs staged a work-out on the chairman, saying he can no longer preside over the EXCOs since had shown interest to vie for the governorship of the state in the 2015 election.

The group warned the party not to allowed the state to go back to the bad old days of ‘PDP-1’ and ‘PDP-2’ factions, when the party was plunged into serious crisis, saying that such will not only slow the pace the political activities but will cripple it, and also give room for the enemies of the state to gain entry and cause disunity among the people of the state.

“We are calling on the party at the national level to intervene and save the anomalies by enforcing justice, equity and discipline in the party on the Plateau to forestall anarchy.” it added
The party leadership in the state has been in serious crisis arising from the declaration of the Chairman to contest for the Governorship of the state, culminating into his suspension, a development that many have crowned at, saying the Chairman was not given a fair hearing before his outright suspension.
