Former Minister of Police Affairs and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi state, Dr. Ibrahim Yakubu Lame, has described the Federal Government’s move to blame insecurity on the opposition as an abdication of its responsibility. Lame, who also advocated the creation of State Police in the country, spoke during an interview with newsmen in Bauchi yesterday, and observed that apportioning insecurity blame to the opposition clearly indicates that the federal government has faltered in its job.
“The purpose of government is to provide security of lives and property, and the federal government is the custodian of instrument of security in the country. For them to say that they are blaming the APC, it means they are failing in their jobs. The PDP is abdicating its own responsibility”, he said.
He wondered how the federal government allows a situation where people are being killed every day and nothing seems to be happening to reverse the trend.
