The convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC ) finally broke the jinx of a predicted crisis by electing the former Edo governor, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, first substantive national chairman of the party.
Oyegun despite the challenge from his kinsman and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chief Tom Ikimi had a smooth sail to victory as the subsequent voting conducted by the election committee was a mere formality.
Both Jaja and Ikimi were not seen at Friday's convention.
THISDAY gathered that the horse trading that led to rest the weeks of behind the scene intrigues, stretched the leadership to its limits, thereby causing a delay of the activities of the convention till late evening Friday.
