The recuperating Governor of Taraba State, Danbaba Danfulani Suntai, on Monday flew out of the country to London for a two-week medical trip.

Suntai, whose return to the country and Taraba State last August sparked  political crisis in the state, leading to the polarisation of the state, would be accompanied on the trip by his Chief Security Officer, Tino Dangana and his chief detail, Dan Joel, as well as his medical team.

Though Suntai had been recuperating at his official residence in Jalingo since he returned to the country, and he is yet to fully recover from the impact of the injuries he sustained in the October 25, 2012 plane crash, his condition has however improved astronomically to the joy of his family and associates.

Addressing his aides before departing Jalingo to Abuja enroute London, Suntai expressed gratitude to God and the people of the state as well the entire  Nigerians for their fervent prayers that had sustained him and contributed immensely to the progress he had made in his recovery.

Appealing to the people of the state to continue be pray for him as he departs for London for the medical checkup, the governor stated: “Sincerely, I want to thank Tarabans for their prayers which kept me alive today. I’m on my way to London for  medical check up and I still need your prayers. I don’t know how long the trip would take but I know with your prayers, it will be well with me.”

He, however, enjoined the people of the state, particularly the Central and Southern senatorial districts, that had been witnessing series of communal clashes in recent times to lay down their arms and inculcate peaceful co-existence with one another in the interest of progress and development of the state.
