The interim National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has described the Senator Ibikunle Amosun government in Ogun State as focused and determined to develop the state.

Mohammed said this when he paid a courtesy call on Amosun at the Government House in Abeokuta at the weekend.

After inspecting various infrastructural and developmental project sites in Abeokuta, the state capital, the APC scribe submitted that the projects were massive, rapid and had impacted on the populace.

“Having gone round some projects; about three housing estates, 15km expanse of land to be developed, the new city project that is planned along what we have in Malaysia, Singapore and Dubai, I see a very focused government and I am very impressed. I have also been assured that all these projects would be ready for inauguration in June,” he said.

On how to curb insurgency, Mohammed said the APC had always supported dialogue, stating that government should not only use the military tactics in solving the problem but also explore political, economic and social options.

He advised that government adopt  a well sort out amnesty programme to ensure that the militants are trained to become employable and engaged gainfully when they lay down their weapons if it wants to achieve results just as in the case of the Niger Delta militants.

Asked the chances of his party at the upcoming gubernatorial election in Ekiti State, he said: “If the election is going to be based on performance, then the party certainly has no contest,” adding that Governor Kayode Fayemi has done a lot for the state and the people.
