Nigerian-Americans under the auspices of Diaspora Nigerians in America are putting together a solidarity rally for President Goodluck Jonathan as a counter to criticisms on his handling of the over 276 kidnapped schoolgirls by Boko Haram.

Also, the Council of Ogoni Professionals (COP International) will be testifying before the US Congress on the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) report on Ogoniland on June 11.

COP International USA, in a statement signed by its chairman, Anslem John Miller, would be addressing the US Subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, Global Human Rights and International Organisations on Nigerian Security, Boko Haram, UNEP Report and the Niger Delta.

Also a Nigerian student, Ahmed Balogun, of the University of Wyoming (UW), has been named the first-ever international student to be elected president of the Associated Students of the University of Wyoming (ASUW).

According to the group chairman of Diaspora Nigerians in America, Chika Onyeani, “we are dedicating Saturday, June 28, for a massive “Goodluck Jonathan Appreciation Day” in solidarity for Nigeria’s embattled President Goodluck Jonathan.”
