The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ahmadu Adamu Muazu, has refuted a claim by the Secretary to the State Government of Borno State, Ambassador Baba Ahmed, in which he denied the government was advised against WAEC or NECO examinations outside Maiduguri.

In a statement on the SSG’s interview with SaharaReporters yesterday, he said Ambassador Ahmed’s denial of a letter of advice from the Federal Ministry of Education advising his government not to conduct the examination outside of Maiduguri, was “a clear acceptance of the lopsided approach by the Government in Borno State to fight insurgency in the area.”

He said that as an elder statesman and a stakeholder in this administration, he wanted to restate that for Nigeria to win the fight against terrorism in Nigeria, everyone must close ranks irrespective of party affiliations and heed popular advice from any agency of the government to curtail the activities of the Boko Haram sect.

“We owe our people the collective duty to protect and provide for them and we wish to once again advise the Government and stakeholders in Borno State and indeed all Nigerians to cooperate and stop this spate of violence,” the statement said.

“As we celebrate 15 uninterrupted democracy in Nigeria, we wish to call again on all Nigerians to join hands with President Goodluck Jonathan, GCFR to continue to build the #NigeriaOfOurDream as there is no alternative to democracy. Our mandate is transformation and transformation is on course. Nigeria is one, nothing can divide us.”
