The Senate Committee on Interior will today submit its report on the March 15, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) recruitment tragedy.

The committee chairman, Senator Atiku Bagudu, yesterday submitted its verbatim report which did not include the executive summary containing findings and recommendations of the committee.
It was learnt that the full report which had not been fully signed by all members of the committee as at yesterday would now be submitted today.

The committee was in March mandated to conduct investigation into the tragedy which claimed 16 lives during a nationwide aptitude test and physical examination exercise conducted for recruitment into the NIS.

Although the committee had two weeks to conclude its report, its chairman, Bagudu, said they could not submit the report as scheduled because the supporting documents requested from stakeholders who made presentations during the public hearing was not yet available.
