A former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a member of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), Alhaji  Bamanga Tukur, have described the return of members of the PDP in the Adamawa State House of Assembly as a landmark political development for the party in the state.

He said  the decision of the legislators to return completely to the party and reaffirm their membership of the party had portrayed the members as great men of proven political honour and integrity.
Tukur in a statement,  expressed joy and happiness at the development, adding that the action had concretised and effectively cemented the positive claim and control of Adamawa politically as a PDP state.

“As an elder statesman, and one of the founding fathers of the Party who hails also from Adamawa, I am confident that the PDP will certainly take-over the governance of Adamawa State in 2015.

He charged the legislators to come together and give their support to the party, the President and Commander-in-Chief, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Adamu Muazu, the state Chairman, Chief Joel Madaki and other party functionaries at all levels.

The former National Chairman also called on some members of the party who were deceived into joining the opposition party in the state to now read the handwriting on the wall and quickly return to their rightful party, the PDP.

Tukur assured the legislators that all of them are equal owners and members of the party as every person would be given his own political right and recognition irrespective of events in the past.

The fomer PDP national chairman welcomed all of them back to the party and prayed that Nigerians in other states who are deceived into joining the All Progressives Congress (APC) would soon retrace their steps and return to the PDP.

He finally commended Jonathan on his transformation agenda which he observed was in tandem with the PD P philosophy of providing democratic dividends at the door step of all Nigerians.
