Two leading opposition politicians in the country, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and Senator Bola  Tinubu have accepted President Jacob Zuma’s invitation to be among his guests at the South African president’s inauguration for a second four-year term on Saturday.
Sources close to the two All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders informed journalists in Abuja that South Africa has a tradition of honouring leading opposition politicians from Nigeria going back 20 years when the late Chief M.K.O. Abiola was invited side by side with the then Head of State to witness the inauguration of Nelson Mandela as that country’s first black president.

Zuma and his  African National Congress (ANC) survived an epic and divisive electoral contest against the opposition to win a second term in the recent election with an improved margin.
