UMUAHIA—The people of Abia State have joined other Nigerians to pray for the release of the over 200 Chibok school girls abducted over a month ago by Boko Haram Islamist sect.

The people gathered at Micheal Okpara Auditorium to offer prayers for the release of the girls and an end to Boko Haram insurgency in the North Eastern part of the country.
Organized by the office of wife of the governor, in conjunction with the state branch of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, many of the people wore black attire to reflect their pensive mood.

Some, especially the women wept openly as they prayed on the security challenges in the country and possible fate of the abducted school girls.
