Senator representing Sokoto Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Ahmed Maccido, has said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) remains intact and there is no division whatsoever in the party in the state.
Speaking with newsmen in Sokoto yesterday, Maccido maintained that there was no acrimony in the PDP, adding that the leadership of the party in the state was working with unity of purpose ahead of the 2015 elections.

According to him, there was no squabble in the PDP in the state, contrary to false messages being peddled in the state by detractors. He noted that it was normal to have different groups and individuals with varied interest and opinion in a political party and as such there was no division among the leadership of the PDP in the state.

“Of course, it is normal to have different camps in a political party. This is normal in politics in every state of the federation not only in Sokoto state. But at the end of it, we will come around and mobilise our members. And by God’s grace, whoever the party chooses to be the flag-bearer, I believe the rest of the people will rally around him.

“So, the PDP is intact and there is no division in the party as being insinuated by our political opponents. In fact, if there is a problem, you will have seen rancour and fight in the party but that has been non-existent in the PDP in the state,” Maccido averred.

The lawmaker stated that the PDP was determined to win the 2015 governorship election in the state, and added that he would continue to work hard towards meeting the yearnings and aspirations of the people.
