The Nigerian Welders Association (NWA) has protested to the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chief Emeka Wogu, on the purported merger of the association with the Nigeria National Fitters Association (NNFA).
The protest letter was jointly signed by the President of NWA, Mr. Pius Itama, and its National Secretary, Mr. Amangala Azibalua, and made available to THISDAY in Abuja.

In the protest letter, NWA said contrary to the law of the country, the same people that are still members of NWA and had not relinquished their statutory membership of NWA, “are making every effort to register or incorporate NIWELFA or and NIWELFU which will invariably amount to a passing off to the activities of the NWA already in existence and performs the same functions which either the NIWELFA or NIWELFU is trying to do.

“We therefore advice that you discontinue every attempt, motive of the NIWELFA or NIWELFU and her promoters and engineers that being unlawful, criminal, prejudicial to NWA and repugnant to national justice, equity and good conscience”, the letter added.
pulse of the people.“
