Amaechi, in his speech at the Workers' Day celebration in Port Harcourt yesterday, explained that social injustice, political and economic violence as well as corruption were the factors driving the activities of Boko Haram sect.
The governor further charged the labour unions to rise up to their civic responsibilities against the activities of desperate politicians and offer workable solutions that will make the current democracy grow and beneficial to Nigerians.
Earlier, the state NLC Chairman, Mr. Chris Oruge, advocated equal rights and justice, saying inconsistent polices of government and increasing unemployment were responsible for the insurgency in the North-east as well as kidnapping and cultism in the south.
