He also asked Goje to give Dawkambo a free hand to govern the state.
Jalo, who condemned a statement allegedly made by Goje recently that he regretted handing power over to Dankwambo, also alleged that the former governor collected money from all the aspirants in the state including Dakwambo with a promise to make them governor.
According to the PDP chieftain who bared his mind to select journalists on the happenings in the state at the weekend in Lagos, “It is Allah’s wish that Dankwambo would become the governor of the state. Because before he contested the governorship election in 2011, people constituted the committee of Dawo-Dawo meaning ‘come back, come back’, so the people in the state love him except Goje.”
He accused Goje of low performance in the state during his days, adding that he (Goje) had no moral right to have any regret over a performing governor.
Jalo said: “I was in Goje’s government, I was the Executive Chairman, Gombe Publishing and Printing Company for four years; I was also the spokesperson for the government. During his eight years in office, Goje only managed to build 11 roads in the whole state but in just three years, Dankwambo has built 46 roads. Goje did not construct any school throughout his tenure in office, whether primary or secondary school but Dankwambo has in three years constructed 300 primary and secondary schools.
“Goje’s problem is all about envy. Remember you cannot eat your cake and have it. When Goje wanted to leave the government, he collected bribes from all the aspirants, including the present governor, now he wants him (Dakwambo) to obey him; it is not possible. You collected money from him before he became the governor, now you are saying you want to be consulted whenever the commissioners or other officials are appointed, the answer is no."
