Real Madrid left-back Marcelo will miss both legs of his side’s Champions League quarter-final against Borussia Dortmund due to a hamstring injury.

“After tests were carried out on Marcelo, a first grade tear has been detected in his left hamstring,” the club said in a statement.

The Brazilian international is expected to be sidelined for a minimum of two weeks meaning he will also miss crucial La Liga games against Real Sociedad and Almeria and faces a race against time to be fit for the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona on April 16
