NIGERIA: Progress in power reforms unprecedented — Minister

The Minister of State for Power, Mohammed Wakil, has lauded President Goodluck Jonathan for the quantum of investment and turn around in the generation, transmission and distribution sections of the power sector and promised to key into the transformation agenda of the government.
Wakil, who spoke while resuming work at the ministry’s headquarters yesterday in Abuja, described the ongoing transformation and progress so far attained in the Nigerian power sector as unprecedented and unrivaled in Nigerian history.
He said: “The quantum of investment and turn around in the generation, transmission and distribution sections of the power sector attest to the determination of Mr. President to break the jinx and provide sustainable electricity supply to Nigerians.
“I know a lot of work has been done and I promise to key into the agenda as a team player to drive better understanding by Nigerians of much landmark progress in the power sector.”
