Tukur Brands APC Commercial Party

National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamanga TukurThe immediate past National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, yesterday described  the All Progressives Congress (APC) as “All Commercial Party.”
Despite his removal from office, Tukur insisted that he remained irrevocably committed to the course of the PDP and would continue to be in the party to give it unalloyed support, adding, “this is because the PDP is the only reliable platform to serve Nigeria better.”
The former national chairman said this when the PDP pressure group under the aegis of National Consolidated Group (NCG) paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja.
He called on PDP members, who had defected to other political parties to have a rethink and return to the fold of the party.
“The PDP is solid, intact and united as ever. This is evident by the influx of politicians to the party. Many more politicians, men and women of goodwill will still join the party. Truly, the PDP is the party to beat. I enjoined all members of the PDP family who have defected to other parties to have a rethink and return to the fold of the PDP.
“I call on you and indeed all Nigerians to vote massively for the PDP in future elections and support the PDP as the party is a united political family. I urge you people to work for PDP and ensure that there is peace and harmonious existence in the party.
“I will also continue to serve the PDP and work for the party for in the party lies the greatest hope for a united, peaceful and prosperous Nigeria,” Tukur said.
He, however, urged the group to continue to be pressure group, as government was made of human beings, who need pressure to work.
The national coordinator of the group, Hon. Francis Ajon Ugboho, said the group was honoured to identify with Tukur, being a product of his visionary leadership in the party.
Ugboho added that the immediate objective of the group was to work for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan as the 2015 general election draws near.
The group appealed to Tukur to use the influence of his good office to serve as a rallying point for the youths, adding, “as you may be aware, the youths make up the majority of the workforce and voting strength in the political space and guiding them rightly translates into putting things right in our political realm.”
Ugboho added that as the group remains committed to the ideals and principles it imbibed under the guidance of Tukur, “we also pledge to continue to work in the same spirit and motivation under the incumbent leadership of Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, as the National Chairman of our great party.”
The group however, made Tukur its national trustee and President Jonathan its grand patron.
