Tumu, Pindiga and Kashere Communities in Akko Local government Area of Gombe State have called on the federal government to protect the lives of the people in the areas by beefing up security whenever Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje visits the area.
According to a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart and spokesman of the people, Alhaji Sale Danmasani, whenever Goje, who represents Gombe Central senatorial zone visits, it is always in intimidation and violence.
Danmasani who raised the alarm during the inauguration of Tolba House and presentation of a vehicle to ward in the area yesterday stated that the call had become necessary considering the enormous threats the former governor’s visit to the areas always had in the lives and property of the people.
He alleged that in his visits to the villages, he is always accompanied by a large crowd of thugs armed with dangerous weapons and fond of attacking whoever they find on the road.
The communities expressed concern about the trend saying the situation would escalate when politicking starts in earnest.
He said lives and property of these villagers would encounter enormous threat, hence the need for people of the area to report the problem to the federal government.
Speaking during the occasion the Deputy Chairman of the local government area, Alhaji Mohammed Kabiru Jalo, said the transformation of Pindiga Emirate in the last two and half years was enormous and worthy of commendation by all the people of the area.
The Personal Assistant to the Commissioner of Works, Alhaji Bala Barade, said not just people of Pindiga Emirate but the entire state should be thankful to God for the state Governor, Dr. Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, “because of the massive transformation achieved within a short period of time.â€
