Determined to ensure that President Goodluck not only gets convinced to contest the 2015 presidential election but to also wins it, a new group, Youths for Ebele Jonathan (YEJ), has begun a nation-wide mobilisation of the nation’s youths who will propagate the “Jonathan crusade†during a two-million-man match in all states of the country, including Abuja.
In a statement issued by the group’s National Coordinator, Mr. Robert Opara, he confirmed that “this organisation is set up to shore up youths’ support for Mr. President for the 2015 general election in Nigeria.â€
The group, which said beside the fact that Jonathan has the constitutional permit to seek re-election, he had performed creditably and so deserves to be re-elected.
The YEJ regretted that the crises in the polity had eclipsed the giant strides of the president in growing the economy and laying a solid foundation for the much-awaited industrial breakthrough of the country.
It said: “To shore up support for Mr. President, we have set up a 20 man/woman management committee in every state, local government area and ward in about 21 states of the country, and more states are already having their structures inaugurated.
According to Opara, the committees will form a team that will embark on massive mobilisation and registration of members in the state to support Mr. President, adding that, “these structures will be replicated within the business community, traders and artisans.â€
The group is also planning a two-million-man match in Abuja and simultaneously in the 36 states of the country by April, 2014, after organising rounds of zonal tours across the country.
