Moves to bring back former Osun State Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola to his position as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Secretary may have been intensified; following ongoing reconciliation moves by the new PDP National Chairman, Adamu Mu’azu. THISDAY learnt that in deference to the moves, the present secretary, Prof. Wale Oladipo, may have begun packing his personal effects from the office. Oladipo was said to have refrained from signing any document pertaining to his office and was said to have told his aides to move his personal effects from the office. Following the resignation of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur as PDP chairman, Mu’azu, who took over, had begun reconciliatory moves with aggrieved PDP stalwarts. Mu’azu met former President Olusegun Obasanjo where the need to bring back Oyinlola as secretary in deference to a Court of Appeal ruling was said to have come up for discussion. The PDP chairman also later met the former Osun State governor during which his possible return as secretary was discussed. An Abuja High Court had removed Oyinlola from office as secretary, saying he was endorsed for the job by a South-west congress organised by an illegal executive in the zone. But Oyinlola had appealed the court verdict at the appellate court, which ordered that he be reinstated. The PDP had since appealed the judgment at the Supreme Court.
