This year saw a whole lot of design trends breaking the rules of home décor. Well, 2014 is almost here and a new wave of interior design is being ushered in!
Earlier décor trends played with colours and even furniture, but now things have drastically changed and the focus will be on beautiful furniture with storage space inside them, bright colour palettes for the wall with interesting colour combinations, beautiful wall decals in contemporary designs, beautiful light fixtures amongst others.
When it comes to furniture, it will be smaller, modern, classy,contemporary with a unique feature that is storage spaces inside them. It is better for furnitures to look great and also take minimal space in the living room. So in the year 2014, choose sofas, beds, stools with storage cleverly concealed inside their belly, this will make it easier to organise your home as well as make it look elegant. Wall colours will really change when it comes to 2014 decorating trends,the concept of feature walls, celling designs and other new elements of wall décor will be on the increase. Bright and vibrant colours will be prominent and will feature in living rooms and bed rooms. Colours such as red, blue, green and the primary colours of the rainbow will basically be used in combination with other colours to make the whole room liven up.
Kitchens are coming with elaborate custom cabinetry painted in rich gemstone colours and accented with gleaming brass or chrome, all lit by unusual lighting fixtures, dramatic countertops and back splashes. Lighter honey toned woods such as oaks, walnut and cherry will be used for furniture in contrast to the dark woods we have been seeing in furnitures for so long.
