Ahead of his declaration for the governorship race of Imo State for the 2015 elections, the elders and prominent people of Mbaise zone have given their nod for the ambition of one of their illustrious sons, Senator Bright Nwanne, to contest the governorship of the state.
Addressing a crowd at the country home of the one-time senator at Obizi in Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area who came on a courtesy visit, the leader of the group and former Commissioner for Information in the state, Chief Finbar Ochulor, noted that Nwanne possesses the required pedigree, experience and wherewithal to govern the state well.
He described the senator as a man of great prowess and great ideas, stressing that after series of meetings and consultations by elders of Mbaise zone, they are convinced that he is the right and capable person to lead the state to greatness.
Ochulor further stated that Mbaise people only recognised Nwanne as their candidate for the governorship position in the state, while urging others who might have such ambition to queue behind him for support, as “we in Mbaise will go for the polls with only one candidate who is Senator Nwanne.”
In his contribution, a notable member of the group, Chief Christian Njoku, beckoned on the senator to accept the clarion call from his people as he stood the best of chance to fly the Mbaise flag in the forthcoming governorship election.
Responding, Nwanne commended the group for their support and encouragement and promised them not to disappoint them as he embarks on consultations and prayers.
