While congratulating the Governor elect of Anambra State, Willie Obiano and his Deputy, Dr. Nkem Okeke for winning the just concluded governorship election in Anambra state’ Anambra State Association living in the United States of America, (ASA-USA) has pledged to support the new government.
The apex Igbo group in a letter jointly signed by its President, Dr. Allison Anadu, the Secretary General, Jonathan Okafor and Publicity Secretary, Amaka Aguoji said that the victory of Obiano was possible as a result of his dedication, commitment, pedigree and vision.
“Your victory with a large majority, portrays the level of support accorded to you by Anambra people.
“We have confidence that you will make a difference in Anambra state and hope that you will continue to work hard for the comprehensive development and advancement of Anambra state. ASA-USA pledges her support to all your efforts toward the socio-economic improvement of our state.
“We look forward to a continuous and productive cooperation/partnership between Anambra state government, under your leadership and ASA-USA, especially during the Association’s annual humanitarian missions to the state.
“You have our full support and we wish you all the best. God will guide you and protect you. God will shower you with humility, strength and wisdom as you propel Anambra state to greater heights throughout your administration. Once again, accept our heartiest congratulations on your magnificent success in the elections.
“We hope that your government will continue (as you pledged in our 2013 convention) to partner with ASA-USA in our efforts to continuously deliver free services to Anambrarians particularly in support of the less privileged” the group stated in the letter.
It would be recalled that to date, with the help of Governor Peter Obi’s government, ASA-USA has impacted the lives of over 85,000 Ndi Anambra in 85 towns, through the annual missions to the state.
