National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu Saturday said his party would provide Nigerians with good leadership in the country come 2015.
Tinubu who spoke at the installation of APC National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande as the Baba-Oba of Imoru-Ijebu by Oba MUnirudeen Adeposi Bashorun, said Ogun State was on the wrong political corner of this country but the then ACN ‘s won the state because of its purposeful and people-oriented government in Ogun State.
He therefore, said the struggle to rescue Nigeria had been for a long time since he was a lone in the struggle, saying the party would not relent in its struggle to rescue Nigeria from ‘the cruelest and rudderless administration of the Peoples Democratic Party controlled federal government.
He expressed delight that today that no fewer than 16 progressive governors are joining hands with him in the crusade for a better Nigeria. “There was a time I was alone, but today we have 16 governors on a rescue boat. We shall rescue Nigeria as a whole.We shall succeeded in this crusade to safe Nigeria. As Moses crossed the Red Sea; no going back to Pharaoh again,” Tinubu said.
While commending APC government in the Southwest and other party of the country, Tinubu expressed delight at what he described as massive infrastructural development in Ogun State which he described as second to none in the history of the state.
He recalled that Ogun State in the past was on the wrong side of politics noting that as Amosun is demolishing illegal structures so also is the PDP-led administration at the centre is demolishing democratic structure without any plan to rebuild it.
Once upon a time, Ogun State was on the wrongful corner of politics, in the opposition, but as we continue to develop and demolish various illegal structures across the country, so is the PDP destroying democratic structures.
Ijebu-Ode is already a giant construction site with the dualisation of roads going on, the overhead bridge, thank you governor Amosun for your dedication and commitment to duty which made the transformation possible.

While recollecting the crucial role of the traditional institutions in the country, Akande lamented the bastadization of the traditional institution by the British when they were being used as tax collectors.
According to him, the function of collecting tax eroded the established respect people had for their traditional institution.
That was the beginning of the end of the pre-eminence of our traditional institution over their political subjects, hence I want to advise that Yoruba Obas should avoid like a plaque the demand for a Nigerian National Council of Obas.

Akande warned traditional rulers in Nigeria, particularly those in the Southwest not to be part of the proposed National Council of Obas which he said would not augur well for them.
According to him, the membership of such a council would accommodate people who are not of royal blood who would want to ride on their cherished authorities.
