The joint ventures agreement between Jed Air and Voyageur Airways to strengthen operations by providing air lifting services in the oil and gas sector got underway on Monday as a Bombardier Dash 8 -300 series, 50-seater aircraft for oil and gas services arrived the country.
Both companies announced that three other aircraft would be delivered early next year and increased activities in oil services is hoped to up demand for more airplanes.
The turbo prop aircraft was received at a private terminal at the Lagos Airport with top officials of the Jed Air were on hand to document the delivery.
The arrival of the aircraft by the joint venture partner to Jed Air is part of efforts to boost local content in the oil and gas sector.
The equipment was flown into the country from Canada, the operational headquarters of Voyageur Airways.
This is preparatory to the visit of the management of the Canadian Firm to Nigeria next week.
The team would be led by the Vice President of Voyaguer Airways, Mr. Cory Cousineau.
While in Nigeria, he will pay a facility visit to the concerned oil and gas companies that would be utilising the aircraft for their oil and gas services.
He will be accompanied by the lead partners in the joint venture, facilitated by the President and Chief Executive Officer of Jed Air, Nogie Meggison
