Adesina Beats Dangote, Others to Win Forbes Award

Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development,  Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, has been honoured with the prestigious award of Forbes Africa Person of the Year.
 
Adesina  defeated four other nominees, including President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, to win the continental award.
 
Others nominees were former Managing Director, Zenith Bank Group Plc., Mr. Jim Ovia; founder of Global Telecoms;  Strive Masiyiwa and Patrice Motsepe, a South African mining tycoon.
 
Reacting to the award, said: "I am truly honoured and humbled by this prestigious award, which I dedicate to Africa's farmers and the new cadre of young business entrepreneurs who have discovered the hidden gem for sustainable wealth creation on our continent – agriculture."
He added that the continent would witness greatness with its agricultural potential.
