The leadership tussle in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), may resurface with the triumph of the party at the just concluded governorship election in Anambra state.
The leader of a dissenting group in APGA, Mr. Maxi Okwu said Sunday in a statement that with election now over, the party will be faced with the task of re-branding its image in order to restore it as a popular movement of the people of Nigeria.
"Having secured the clear mandate of the people to administer Anambra State for the next four years, we shall now face the next task before APGA as a political party. This includes re-branding of APGA and restoring it as a popular movement of the people of Nigeria particularly Ndigbo. The struggle now commences with greater vigour."he said.
Okwu who had led a frustrating struggle to unseat the current National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Umeh but was cut short by the ruling of the Appeal Court in Enugu, said the resuscitation of the original vision, goals and aspirations of the founding fathers was important.
