‘We are Not Scared of Wamakko Joining APC’

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State,
Alhaji Anas Dannayaba, Monday said the leadership of the party in the state was not scared of Governor Aliyu Wamakko joining the party.
Speaking with THISDAY in Sokoto, Dannayaba asserted that the leadership of the party in the state was not scared of anybody joining the party as the doors are open for all Nigerians interested in doing so.
According to him, any individual intending to join the APC should follow due process in line with the constitution of the party.
He posited that APC was poised to wrest power from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state and would not waiver in its quest to achieve its objectives.
Dannayaba maintained that the APC has formidable structures in the state and as such, the leadership was not scared that it would be hijacked by any individual.
"Wamakko is free to join APC and he is welcome. We are really interested in people joining us, as it will strengthen the party ahead of the 2015 elections.
"So, we are not scared of anybody joining us and we do not believe that Wamakko will take over the structures of APC if he eventually decides to join us," Dannayaba said.
He pointed out that politics was all about interest and that the leadership of the APC would not do anything that would hinder Wamakko from joining the party.
Dannayaba noted that the leader of the APC in the state and former governor, Attahiru Bafarawa, had expressed the readiness to forgive all those that had wronged him in the past and as such, members of the party were willing to forgive Wamakko in order to forge ahead.
"As you aware, to err is human and to forgive is divine." Therefore, we are willing to  forgive Wamakko and also welcome him to our party provided he seeks forgiveness, and promise to make amends," Dannayaba added.
