Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State with some members of his executive council have gone to Indonesia to participate in a week-long discussion with investors and top government officials with a view to making them invest in the State.
The team comprising Commissioners of works and Infrastructure, Budget and Planning, Culture and tourism and Environment as well special advisers to the governor on trade and investment, housing, research and documentation and special assistant on agriculture will in Surabaya, one of the provinces in Indonesia, hold talks with investors in areas ranging from Agriculture and forestry, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, tourism and explore possibility of co-operating with the Asians in using technology to enhance the production of Adire fabric on commercial basis for export markets.
Amosun had already held a private meeting with the Governor of Surabaya, Dr. H. Soekarwo and both are expected to sign a joint memorandum this weekend signifying the beginning of co-operation between them in several areas.
Both governors will performed the jumat prayers in company with the Nigerian Ambassador to Indonesia.
Amosun and his team would also participate in a business forum to be attended by leading Indonesian industrialists and the forum will afford the Ogun State team the opportunity to showcase what makes the state the gateway to opportunities in Nigeria and at the moment, a choice destination for investors around the world.
