The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has dedicated a telephone line to intending voters in Anambra State who may want information on their polling unit and whether or not they are in the Register of Voters, before or on Election Day.

A terse statement by Mr. Kayode Idowu, the Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega, said such intending voters are to type the name of the state, their surname, and the last five or six digits of their Voter Identification Number (VIN) displayed on the voter’s card and send as SMS to 0817 164 6879.

The format again is: State-Surname-last 5 or 6 digits of VIN (e.g., Anambra Idowu 12345) to 0817 164 6879.
The Commission hoped that the service would ease the voting experience in the election
